How to build discipline
Discipline is the ability to do what you said you'd do after the feeling that made you say it has passed. It is not a trait you either have or don't. It is a system.
The three rules that survive
1. Shrink the contract. "Run 3x/week" fails. "Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday at 7am, 20 minutes, no negotiation" holds.
2. Hide the decision. Lay out clothes. Schedule the block. When the time comes there is only one option: do it.
3. Record it. A visible log makes skipping painful in the useful way — the number argues with you.
Why most attempts fail
Because they rely on tomorrow-you still being in the same mood. You won't. The plan must work on your worst day, not your best. That's why Winter Arc assigns 181 days of structure up front — you only execute, and the system handles the rest.
